CHENNAI: The Integral Coach Manufacturing facility (ICF) will manufacture 75 Vande Bharat trains and freight trains primarily based on the Vande Bharat design in 2022-23, stated basic supervisor AK Agarwal at his I-Day speech on Monday. The manufacturing unit will even make metro rail coaches for Maharashtra Metro Rail Company, a primary for a state-run metro rail company.
Talking after hoisting the Nationwide Flag on the Independence Day celebrations on Monday, Agarwal stated, “The factory will be making 75 Vande Bharat trains this year.” An upgraded model of the prepare was commissioned by minister of railways Ashwini Vaishnaw lately.
“The factory is planning to manufacture 3,500 coaches of around 50 variants in 2022-23. These will include, Vande Bharat rakes, vistadome dining car which will be running in Gujarat by September, Gatishakti freight train on the Vande Bharat platform and a steam engine-themed heritage train with electric propulsion on the Vande Bharat platform.
