The crime department of the Delhi Police busted a poppy straw syndicate and arrested 3 accused who have been concerned in its operations. A complete of 360 kg of poppy straw value roughly Rs 16 lakh was recovered by officers.
On the night time of August 17, 2022, a staff from the crime department obtained details about the provision of Poppy Straw, which was being transported from Khera Kalan village to Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar. Accordingly, a lure was laid, and a Tata Ace, loaded with eight plastic luggage containing poppy straw, was intercepted.
The lads contained in the tempo have been recognized as Raj Kishore and Rajesh Rajput. Every bag of poppy straw weighed almost 20 kg. Based mostly on this, the crime department registered a case and the accused have been arrested.
Throughout interrogation, the accused revealed that they’d bought the poppy straw from a godown owned by a person, recognized as Sanjay.
Based mostly on this, officers raided the premises and the provider, Sanjay, was discovered on the spot. Ten extra plastic luggage containing poppy straw, weighing 20 kg every, have been recovered. Sanjay was additionally arrested by the officers.
