The ruling Aam Aadmi Celebration (AAP) in Delhi and the Bharatiya Janata Celebration (BJP) traded blame over the alleged proposal to shift Rohingya refugees to flats with primary amenities within the nationwide capital.
On Wednesday morning, Union Minister for Housing and City Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri stated that Rohingya refugees will likely be shifted to EWS flats in Bakkarwala space on the outskirts of Delhi and also will be supplied primary facilities and safety. Nonetheless, the Centre later clarified that no such instructions had been given.
The Union House Ministry additional directed the Delhi authorities to maintain the Rohingya refugees at detention centre until their deportation.
WHAT DID THE AAP SAY?
The AAP, nevertheless, took potshots on the BJP over the problem. Taking to Twitter, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia stated, “The Centre, which was not getting tired of telling this news as its achievement in the morning, is now trying to lay the blame on the Delhi government after the AAP’s protest. Whereas it is a fact that the central government was secretly trying to give permanent residence to the Rohingyas in Delhi.”
“At the behest of the central government and L-G, the officers and police took these decisions. They were sending it for approval from the L-G without showing the file to the chief minister or home minister of Delhi. The Delhi government will not allow this conspiracy to illegally settle Rohingyas in Delhi,” he added.

AAP chief Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed that the BJP was conspiring to settle the Rohingya refugees in Delhi, which is a menace to the protection of the residents.
“The BJP considers itself the smartest. This decision has been made by Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar in collaboration with Foreigners Registration Office and Delhi Police,” Bharadwaj stated.
He alleged that the entire “conspiracy” was being achieved by the Centre because the New Delhi Municipal Committee (NDMC) is beneath Hardeep Puri and the chief secretary was performing on the directions of the LG.

Bharadwaj alleged that the BJP was making an attempt to make use of the Rohingyas as vote financial institution by settling them. “Just like Congress settled Bangladeshis and made them vote bank, now BJP is settling Rohingyas in the same way. If Narendra Modi wants, settle them in a BJP-ruled state. After this news, BJP’s own supporters are opposing them, my appeal to such supporters is to leave BJP immediately, this party plays with the security of the country,” he stated.
Saurabh Bharadwaj additionally raised fingers at Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena. “Did all this happen without the knowledge of L-G? If this has happened, then the L-G and chief secretary should be suspended,” Bharadwaj stated.
WHAT DID THE BJP SAY?
BJP spokesman Gaurav Bhatia countered the AAP’s allegations and claimed that the purported transfer was supported by the Kejriwal authorities for “appeasement politics”.
“Kejriwal’s appeasement politics doesn’t care for Delhi citizens but for Rohingya illegal migrants. The Centre has had a clear policy that there will be no compromise with national security and our law says they will be deported,” Bhatia stated.
“On 29 July, a meeting was chaired by Delhi chief secretary. In haste, a decision was made to shift these illegal immigrants to EWS flats…When the news came out in some media that Kejriwal was back to his appeasement politics, the MHA clarified,” he added.
